Three men gather to shoot the breeze outside of a old building, now an art gallery in Bay St. Louis MS. The outside of the building sports a Coke sign with a welcome to the Old Town. This is a digitally enhanced original photograph that has a vintage distressed feel from Rebecca Korpita titled Welcome to Old Town. Bay St. Louis is one of a several towns strung like pearls along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and has made a come back after the total devastation of being ground zero for Hurricane Katrina in 2005. A long time summer vacation spot for the people of New Orleans, it is a charming little town that sits on the Bay of St. Louis with restored cottages, restaurants, shops and galleries.
Rebecca Korpita is an artist living on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her artwork and illustrations reside in collections worldwide, appears on book covers, in magazines and are licensed on home goods and accessories. She is inspired by the coastal area in which she lives - the beach, the people, the lifestyle, the culture, old things and quirky things. Living near New Orleans, she loves the small colorful shotgun houses and captures them whenever she visits. Key West and all things tropical as well as women and their friendships and dogs and cats and their relationships with the people they own are some of her subjects.
