Description
This pretty little Catholic Church is named Our Lady of Bon Secour and is located in the scenic fishing village of Bon Secour, AL. It is just an hour from Fairhope and close to Gulf Shores.
Bon Secour, which is French for Good Help, has a rich history. Originally a French fishing village settlement dating back to the late 19th century, it was named by Jacques Cook, a member of Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville‘s colonizing expedition of 1699. He was a participant in the founding of Mobile in 1702.
This is a digitally enhanced original photograph taken by Rebecca Korpita while on a drive exploring Magnolia Springs AL. This was a dead end road leading to a commercial fishing facility. Sometimes it pays to be lost.
