Bubble Net Feeding is a unique feeding technique employed by Humpback Whales, in which a group of whales swim in a shrinking circle with one designated whale blowing bubbles below a school of fish. This shrinking column of bubbles surrounds the school of fish confusing the fish and forcing them upward. The whales then swim upward through the bubble net with open mouths catching thousands of fish in one gulp.
Rebecca Korpita is an artist living on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her artwork and illustrations reside in collections worldwide, appears on book covers, in magazines and are licensed on home goods and accessories. She is inspired by the coastal area in which she lives - the beach, the people, the lifestyle, the culture, old things and quirky things. Living near New Orleans, she loves the small colorful shotgun houses and captures them whenever she visits.
