Founded in 1968, the kitschy Spongeorama Sponge Factory boasts the Worlds largest selection of natural sea sponges. Tarpon Springs is a seaside town right on the Gulf of Mexico on the West Coast of Florida near Tampa. It has the highest population in the US of Greek Americans and is home to sponge divers who harvest the natural sea sponges. Many of the buildings in the historic area date from the late 1800s.

She is inspired by the coastal area in which she lives - the beach, the people, the lifestyle, the culture, old things and quirky things.
