Description
This is a digital painting by Rebecca Korpita based on an original photograph titled 1041 Royal Street of a historic brick building at the corner of Royal and Ursulines in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Royal Street is one of the oldest streets in the city, dating from the French Colonial era and is one of the best known streets in the French Quarter not far from Bourbon Street.
Featured during some French Quarter tours, 1041 Royal Street, according to the tours was once home to a man rumored to be a vampire. As the story goes, this man/vampire attacked and bit a woman late one night. In an effort to escape the vampire the woman threw herself from one of the upstairs windows, landing on the street below.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, so I'm naturally drawn to your subject matter. However, your unique angle makes it extra special. Les bon temps rouler!
