The Old Cuevas Bistro on Menge Ave in Pass Christian MS is no more. The original structure was built in 1851 as a trading post. The building burned down six years later and was rebuilt. Over the years, it operated as a grocery store, filling station and laundromat. It survived the depression, opened as a Bistro, flooded in Katrina, was rebuilt and operated again until it burned to ground in July 2014. It has since reopened in another building in downtown Bay St. Louis serving the delicious food for which it was known, but it will always be remembered fondly in it's spot in the Pass and as part of the history of the Gulf Coast that is no longer.
